pendants ready!

This is a not so good picture of the 6 pendant designs I will have ready by 12/15 for my debut at the Downtown Holiday Market. Each piece comes inside a velvet pouch inside a tin canister bearing the same artwork. $45 each. Only 20 pieces total are available so if you want one contact me and I'll reserve it for you.

Each artwork is 4'x4'; oil on sliced and reassembled canvas. The composition was borrowed from Andy Warhol's flower series and modified for my own experiment. One of the pieces was commissioned. Due to the nature of the sliced technique there was born from it a second piece. Both of them are now happily going to the same home, as perfect compliments to each other. Cheers!

First painting finally cut. The strips are 1"x48" each.

Measuring and cutting has proven to be a challenge. With the help of a sheet of drywall as backing, the cutting shall commence shortly.

This picture is dark, as the sun is going down. Each sliced canvas will be stretched over a 4'x4' support canvas, to be painted black first. I like each painting so much it's going to be hard to "destroy" them only to reincarnate them in another form. Still, I cannot wait to see the final outcome!

Almost there. Soon these paintings will be cut and "Andy's Flowers" remixed. The design was borrowed from Andy Warhol's famous flowers series, then modified for my own experiment. I think he'd appreciate the dual nature of the piece.

Yesterday a friend came over and we created this little gem together. It's a 6"x6", oil stick on canvas. I like the smooth and rough textures; the dissolving forms. More collaborative experiments to come!

Spicy Tom Yum

This painting is a declaration of my love for Thai food and culture. It is based on a sketch done while I was in Thailand in 2003. The canvas is 22"x28". Finishing touches still needed.
