First painting finally cut. The strips are 1"x48" each.

Measuring and cutting has proven to be a challenge. With the help of a sheet of drywall as backing, the cutting shall commence shortly.

This picture is dark, as the sun is going down. Each sliced canvas will be stretched over a 4'x4' support canvas, to be painted black first. I like each painting so much it's going to be hard to "destroy" them only to reincarnate them in another form. Still, I cannot wait to see the final outcome!

Almost there. Soon these paintings will be cut and "Andy's Flowers" remixed. The design was borrowed from Andy Warhol's famous flowers series, then modified for my own experiment. I think he'd appreciate the dual nature of the piece.

collaborative painting

Yesterday a friend came over and we created this little gem together. It's a 6"x6", oil stick on canvas. I like the smooth and rough textures; the dissolving forms. More collaborative experiments to come!
